EFMD Global has published a featured article highlighting the two-decade legacy of the International Business School Shanghai Conference (IBSSC), the biennial flagship conference hosted by Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Launched in 2006 to mark SJTU’s 110th‑anniversary celebrations, IBSSC has established itself as the Asia-Pacific’s largest dean-level gathering for business schools. For nearly 20 years, the conference has served as a pivotal platform for open, candid dialogue between Eastern and Western management education communities, bridging diverse perspectives on pedagogy, institutional governance and society’s evolving expectations of business schools.

Scheduled for 21-23 October 2026 in Shanghai, the 11th International Business School Shanghai Conference (IBSSC 2026) coincides with the 130th anniversary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Under the theme “The Changing Role of Business Education”, it will convene deans and senior academic leaders from across the globe to address technological disruption, shifting global economic dynamics, and the evolving social contract between business schools and society. Participants will dive into critical themes including AI-driven pedagogy, ethical frameworks, and international collaboration amid mounting global headwinds.

Rooted in ACEM’s institutional strengths and long-standing international accreditation milestones, IBSSC’s decades-long exchange agenda has been underpinned by its valued long-term partnership with EFMD Global.

Building on its legacy of turning shared global challenges into collective learning for management educators worldwide, the 11th IBSSC extends a warm invitation to global management educators to join the gathering in Shanghai this October.
